Bonus Poem: NEOWISE: It Seems the Preacher/Teacher (Ecclesiastes) Was Wrong

NEOWISE:
It Seems the Preacher/Teacher (Ecclesiastes) Was Wrong

Staying up late the other night
So I can try to catch a glimpse
Of NEOWISE, the new comet,
I worry the clouds make hazy
The northwest sky. But then I spy,
Using my new binoculars,
Something that looks like a flashlight,
Its beam pointing towards the Dipper,
64 million miles away!
Oh, what a mystery, to me,
That something just three miles across
Is visible to us at all,
To say nothing of the fact that
It was just discovered in March!
Now, a slingshot blast, it speeds past.

This belies the old adage that
There’s nothing new under the sun,
Or—as it turns out—around it!
